Practice Concentration

Efe Poturoglu concentrates his practice on civil litigation with a particular emphasis in business disputes and commercial matters. He also handles a broad range of immigration matters including all categories of permanent resident (green card) and non-immigrant visa applications.

Mr. Poturoglu's commercial litigation experience encompasses such areas as employment, construction, breach of contract, fraud, business torts and class actions. He also has extensive litigation and counseling experience in insurance coverage matters arising nationwide. He has handled cases involving mass torts, environmental, commercial general liability and professional liability claims.

Immigration Practice

Mr. Poturoglu's immigration practice includes providing advice and assistance in obtaining all types of temporary visas (including H-1B specialty occupation, E-2 investor visa and K-1 fiancée visa) and permanent residence (both family and employment-based green card). He also provides assistance to corporate clients with the transfer of business persons to the United States (including L-1 Intracompany Transfer Visas) and development of corporate immigration policies and strategies. In addition, he regularly represents clients before the immigration court in removal proceedings.

Educational Background and Civic Involvement

Mr. Poturoglu received his Juris Doctor degree from Georgetown University Law Center in 2003 where he was a member of the Georgetown Journal of International Law. He received his undergraduate degree in International Business from the University of Denver in 2000.

Mr. Poturoglu is a member of the bars of the District of Columbia and Maryland. He is also a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), the nation's leading immigration law association. Mr. Poturoglu is fluent in French and Turkish.
